Richard Davis of Flip This House Helps Josh Hamilton Renew His Life
The Real Estate Pros, a home flipping reality TV show aired over TLC, is making waves in terms of educating and entertaining people. Backed by an unbeatable group of professionals in the real estate industry, the program has been getting positive feedback in the way they handle their projects and the intense pressure involved in accomplishing their goals. Apart from the main man, Richard Davis (formerly on A&E's Flip This House), one new member of the team is former baseball player Josh Hamilton.
Josh Hamilton used to be a star in his own right in America's national sport which is baseball. This 27-year-old man was named USA baseball's amateur player of the year and Baseball America's high school player in 1999. He first got drafted by the Tampa Bay Rays back in 1999 then moved on to the Cincinnati Reds. He made his debut in the Major League Baseball (MLB) in 2007 and easily achieved success during his rookie season. This 2008, he was named to the American League All-Star team.
Baseball career halted
But not every celebrity player's life is a bed of roses as along the way starting in 2001, Hamilton got into drugs which caused his temporary suspension. But after a four-year hiatus from 2002 to 2006 due to drug addiction notably to crack and cocaine, this star player is now back in the baseball arena making home runs for his team, the Texas Rangers.
With the help of an angel friend by the name of Richard Davis, Hamilton was able to bounce back and change for the better. The player was actually just recovering from his battle with prohibited drugs when he met Davis who actually knew him way back when he was just a kid. It was in 2000 when Davis rented a Folly Beach condo to Hamilton and his parents and since then, the two have become good friends. Davis knew Josh as a kid from his hometown of Charleston in South Carolina.
Hamilton was hired to serve as the official foreman for Trademark Properties' return on the TV screen via the home flipping reality show "The Real Deal" hosted by Trademark Properties founder and president Richard Davis. The first episode of the show titled "A Home Run For Trademark" which premiered on April 21, 2007 featured the relocation of the Shoeless Joe House and the team's efforts in helping Major League baseball player Josh Hamilton renew his life. The show has since changed its name to "The Real Estate Pros."
Davis hired Hamilton to be the construction foreman in his team's home flipping projects. The former baseball player has high hopes that his role in the team will be a stepping stone to returning to the sports he loves. Davis is a big sports fan who has worked with various professional players in basketball, football and baseball.
Personal life
Josh Hamilton is married to Katie and they have two children. Today, this Texas Rangers player shows signs of full recovery as he admits to not using alcohol and drugs since 2006. He continues to undergo regular drug tests at least three times a week in accordance with the provisions of the MLB's drug policy. He openly shares his grueling experience with the public and attributes his Christian faith as instrumental in his renewal process.
