Roger
Hazard Sell This House on A&E
Roger Hazard is currently the famous co-host on the popular A&E show, “Sell This House”. As the show’s buff home decorating guru, Roger brings a lot of spice and wit to the hit reality television series that started airing in 2003. Together with his sexy and sassy co-host
Tanya Memme, Roger helps homeowners that are having a difficult time selling their acquired houses. The show works by setting up cameras in an open house to record the reactions of prospective buyers. After Roger makes his evaluation, he, together with Memme, the house sellers, and their friends and family work on the house to fix whatever problems they found or what the prospective buyers are generally concerned about. Usually, the process involves rearranging furniture, removing excess clutter, repainting, and others. After the whole makeover, the same potential buyers are brought back to check the house for the second time.
Roger is a man whose passion has always been design. Studying environmental design and landscape architecture at the Texas A&M, he started his own landscaping company afterwards - designing, plotting and growing some of the most beautiful gardens in Houston. Always motivated to move forward, his landscaping stint led him to a new designing career, which is working on homes. He then moved to Atlanta and started buying and selling up to four houses a year, becoming a great success in the industry.
Growing up in Texas, Roger was never complacent and was always inspired into breaking into bigger things. He loved challenges, and has taken on much of these during his entire career. From designing gardens and plants, he has moved on to designing big-scale celebrity homes, famous restaurants, and countless interiors. He has even designed sets for television shows.
Amidst all the success he has achieved, Roger has always been inspired by his first real passion that is gardening. Thus, his principle for design has always been fueled by his love of light, color, texture and form, equipping him to creating wonderful designs, whether for houses or other interiors. His general motto is to keep everything lovely, unique, yet clean and clutter free. With his extensive experience as a designer and a home restorer, it comes as no surprise that Roger has discovered many of the tricks of the real estate trade. And as the new host of “Sell This House”, Roger shares back everything he has learned by helping troubled sellers make their own fortunes as well.
One of most important things he lives by when designing houses is that people buy based on their emotions. They have to feel good vibes when they set foot in a house, and seeing one little thing that is a pet peeve immediately lessens the chance of them buying the house. The bottom line is that prospective buyers simply have to feel good in a home, and each home must be inviting enough to sustain interest. Roger knows just how to create the perfect inviting environment without resorting to a lot of costs.
